Flavor text

Pokémon Emerald

A Clefable uses its wings to skip lightly as if it were flying. Its bouncy step lets it even walk on water. On quiet, moonlit nights, it strolls on lakes.

Name origin

Clefable's name is a combination of clef, French for (musical) key, and "fable" — a story about legendary persons and deeds. Its Japanese name refers to pixies, creatures similar to fairies.

It seems to be based on fairies and pixes, being a magical, humanoid, playful, winged creature.
