The Clear Bell (Japanese: とうめいなスズ Transparent Suzu) is a Key Item introduced in Generation II. Along with the Rainbow Wing, it is one of the legendary artifacts associated with Ho-Oh.

In Pokémon Crystal, it allows the player to meet Suicune on the first floor of the Tin Tower, where, unlike its brethren, it will not flee, and the player must defeat or capture it.

In the anime
The Clear Bells, referred to as "Crystal Bells" in the anime, appeared in For Ho-Oh the Bells Toll!. Team Rocket stole some of the bells from the Tin Tower, intending to summon Ho-Oh with them, not realizing that the bells didn't work that way. However, Jessie accidentally breaking one of the bells angered the Bug Pokémon of the area, who proceeded to ensnare them in webbing, apprehending them long before Morty, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Eusine caught up to them.
The Crystal Bells are unable to be rung by human hands alone, as Jessie proved, though they will, according to legend, ring on their own when Ho-Oh approaches.

The Clear Bell, called the "Invisible Bell" in the Chuang Yi translation, was given to the Team Rocket Elite Trio by the Masked Man for their Suicune capture operation, its power allowing its holder to bypass the crystal walls that Suicune can create to defend itself. After their attempt to capture Suicune had been foiled by Crystal and Eusine, Eusine took the Clear Bell from the trio in Suddenly Suicune (Part 2). In the next chapter, he used it to bypass the crystal wall Suicune had set up at the Tin Tower and rescue Crystal from inside it.
In The Last Battle V, Misty's attempt to use Suicune's crystal wall to trap the Masked Man with her ended in failure, resulting in only her getting trapped as the Masked Man's Gastly's Curse weakened Suicune so that it became unable to bring the wall down. Fortunately, Eusine soon appeared, using his Clear Bell to save Misty. Despite him possessing the Clear Bell, however, Suicune chose Crystal as its new partner afterwards, much to Eusine's dismay.
Trivia
- Though the Japanese and English names of the item imply that the bells should at least be somewhat transparent, the HeartGold and SoulSilver sprite of the item is not clear at all, nor even blue, the color of Crystal's cartridge, except when it is being used to summon Ho-Oh, when it shines brightly with a bluish-white glow as if becoming clear.
- In Korean Gold and Silver, Teru-sama ID 0x46 is labeled 크리스탈방울 Clear Bell to match the name of the actual Clear Bell item ID in Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Stadium 2, despite those games not being released in Korean.
