Some Bulbapedia members have formed a project to better organise efforts to write and improve articles about moves. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page or the Bulbapedia forum and see the Bulbapedia:Project MoveDex/To-do list.

Project MoveDex

Scope and aims

Project Movedex covers all articles about moves, also known as "techniques" or "skills", that presently exist in the Pokémon universe. It encompasses all moves that exist in the Game Boy and Nintendo DS games plus any moves which are otherwise defined as legitimate outside of the Game Boy and Nintendo DS games. It does not, however, define moves that exist in the Trading Card Game, in the Anime alone, or in any other offshoots of the main franchise.

Participants

To join the project, simply add your name to the bottom of this list:

Structure

Examples: Signal Beam, Safeguard, Iron Defense, Protect, Psybeam.

Effect
A description of the move's effect. If the move's effect varies between generations, differences should be specified in subsections titled with the generation (for instance, ===Generation III===). If other moves have similar or identical effects, try to keep the wording consistant between all of them. For moves that have an effect outside of battle, please add: ===In battle=== and ===Out of battle===. If applicable, place them under the correct Generation.

Learnset
Generation
By leveling up
A table containing the Pokémon that can learn the move via leveling up.

By TM##==== or ====By HM##
Any other method of learning the move goes below those. For example:

A table containing the Pokémon that can learn the move via Nintendo Events. Please use Learnlistspecial.

By events
A table containing the Pokémon that can learn the move via purification.

In other games
To be used for information on the move in other games, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

In the anime
For information on the move's usage in the anime. Please use Moveanime, Movep, Movemid and Movebtm.

Trivia
For any trivia on the move. Please use bullet points.

In other languages
The names of the move in other languages.
