Yup, this is me, SharKing (シャーキング SharKing).

I'm just here to help Bulbapedia to the best of my ability. I have been doing so since July 24, 2008, after going over the site a lot and being inspired to join. I am also active on YouTube as SharKing319, posting walkthrough videos on the main Pokémon games. So far, I'm working on Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Silver, and Pokémon Emerald.

Here, I contribute mostly to trivia. I often reveal highly obscure details through trivia. I do contribute to other sections of pages, but I find trivia the most fun to add to.

If you're curious about the name "SharKing," know this-- it is not based on the act of sharking! It is actually derived from "Sharpedo," my favorite Pokémon, and "king" (In other words, I'm the King of Sharpedo! LOL).

BIG NEWS!! Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are out in Japan, and I'm very psyched! Why? Because I'm getting the Japanese HeartGold! I'll be able to help by posting tutor moves, and other things, too!

SharKing's Pokemon of the Week

Fighting

Machamp (カイリキー), the Superpower Pokémon.

HP: 90

Attack: 130

Defense: 80

SpAtk: 65

SpDef: 85

Speed: 55

Machamp's four arms can throw punches and chops from all directions, making its attacks impossible to block. It can throw 1,000 punches in two seconds, and one arm alone can displace a mountain. If it grabs your limbs with its arms, it's over. It has horrible dexterity, though, and any work requiring this would get its arms tangled.

Machamp is a definite OU. It has monsterously high Attack, a very diverse movepool, and the famous No Guard. It lacks Speed, but it has enough bulk to throw a painful punch.

The most famous strategy with Machamp is the No Guard-DynamicPunch combo. DynamicPunch is a powerful Fighting-type attack that confuses the foe, if it doesn't kill!! But it has a pathetic 50% accuracy. Thankfully, No Guard fixes that one gaping flaw. It also helps with Stone Edge and Cross Chop.

It can make use of the above moves, and Fire Punch, Ice Punch, ThunderPunch, Earthquake, and Close Combat. It also has Bullet Punch for priority.

Because of their bulk, I've seen Rest-Talk tanks before. They usually come with DynamicPunch and one the Elemental Punches.

But No Guard isn't its only ability. It can also make use of Guts, using a Flame Orb to activate the ability. Because of the lack of No Guard, Close Combat becomes the powerful STAB attack. Facade can also be used, getting the boost from Guts, and getting up to 140 power by itself from the burn.

You could try to use a Special-based Machamp, but with 65 base Special Attack? Unless you have a Plot-Passer, I wouldn't. No Guard is the recommended ability, because the only strong Special Fighting-type move it can learn is Focus Blast, which has 70% accuracy. It can also use Fire Blast for coverage, and Vacuum Wave for priority. I'd also go for an Ice-type Hidden Power, but you'll have to mess with IVs to get a good one. (Yes, PokéSav'ers, I'm lookin' at you.)

Pokémon Silver So Far

This is information on the Pokémon I've obtained and trained in Silver on the footage to be released, as well as where I am, and the badges I have.

Location: Goldenrod City Pokémon Center

Badges: Zephyr Badge, Hive Badge, Plain Badge

Additional Note: I had an epic victory against Whitney. I used my DrkFiddlr (Slowpoke), and allowed it to set up with Curse on her Clefairy. Then, her Miltank (you heard me, Miltank!) gave me no trouble at all. I just owned one of the most threatening obstacles in the game!
