Solana (ヒナタ Hinata) is a Pokémon ranger. She is a main character in the game of that name and has also made appearances in the anime. The name Solana is a reference to sol, the Latin word for sun, while Hinata alludes to hi, the Japanese word for sun.
In the games
Solana is the playable female character of Pokémon Ranger. However, she also has an involvement in the story if the player chooses to play as the male character.
In the anime
Solana has made a few appearances in the anime. Her Japanese voice actress is Atsuko Enomoto and her English voice actress is Rhonda Krempa.
Solana first appeared in Green Guardian. She accompanied Ash and friends when they tried to help an injured Celebi. She later appears in the special episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis! where she meets Ash and friends again and gets involved in an incident involving Deoxys.
She was also showcased in the intro Spurt starting from AG172 and made a brief appearance in the opening of Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.
