Courney (Japanese: マグマだんかんぶ カガリ Kagari, German: Magma Vors. Jördis, French: Admin Magma Courtney, Italian: Magmatenente Rossella, Spanish: Admin. Magma Carola) is one of the Magma Admins of Team Magma. There is also a character in Pokémon Card GB 2 named Courtney; see Courtney (TCG GB).

In the Pokémon Special Manga

In the Pokémon Special manga, Courtney is is one of the FireHeads, Admins of Team Magma - along with Tabitha and Hokage.

Like all of the FireHeads, Courtney has a special lighter that can transmit and record images by burning them on paper. In addition to her lighter, her gloves usually contain mixture of certain berry juice that carries different properties, including spicy (volume 16), cohesive (volume 18) and corrosive (volume 20).

Courtney's specialty is direct Fire-type attacks.

Ruby and Sapphire were traveling along Route 107 when they encountered Courtney and Tabitha. The two Magma Admins were trying to steal a deep sea scanner from the wreckage of the Abandoned Ship.

Later, Courtney attacked the Rusturff Tunnel, looking for the Red Orb. Courtney encountered Ruby again there, and offered the boy a position on Team Magma. Ruby refused and was able to defeat Courtney, leaving her badly burned.

When the Firehead Trio took off with three gymleaders to face off in battle, Courtney's opponent was Roxanne.

When Ruby went alone to defeat Groudon and Kyogre with the Red and Blue Orbs, Courtney joins forces with him. After saving him from both Groudon and Kyogre, she was snatched into the Cave of Origin by Archie's Tentacruel. She managed to pass him her Firelighter with her bubblegum and a mixture of berry juice. On the Firelighter was information about Ruby's own father Norman. She also took back what she offered earlier, since now, she realizes that all along, she and Ruby have always been a team after the Rusturf incident.

Courtney was killed when the Cave of Origin collapsed on her but was later brought back to life by Celebi.

In Chuang Yi's English translation, Courtney is known as Marge.

Misc

For a fairly odd reason, Kagari (Courtney) resembles Ruby (without his hat) and Norman alot. It may be possible that she is somehow related to them, or, as some fans may suggest, has feelings for Ruby.
