Alan (Japanese: アツオ Atsuo) is a character from the anime who first appeared in Nosing 'Round the Mountain!. His Japanese voice actress is 沢海陽子 Yōko Sōmi and his English voice actor is Sean Schemmel.
He met with Ash and his friends while they were passing through Mt. Coronet. His dream was to evolve his Nosepass, which became true.
Alan appeared in a flashback in DP093 where it was revealed that he challenged Fantina. He lost the first match with his Nosepass but was able to defeat her with his newly evolved Probopass.

Trivia
- Alan's Probopass is the only Pokémon in the anime to not disappear after using Explosion. However, the Probopass may have used Selfdestruct, since Pokémon using Selfdestruct do not disappear in the anime.
- When Alan battling Fantina was shown, he used Nosepass. This was inbetween Ash's Template:Gym and Template:Gym Gym battles, which would explain why he was training in on Mt. Coronet. In Pokémon Platinum, Hearthome Gym can be challenged inbetween the Eterna and Veilstone Gym as well.
