Revision as of 02:29, 16 September 2012
as per a landslide "##-0" administrative board decision, glitch Pokemon aquaired through Gameshark hacking are NOT NOTABLE for the site as they are not genuine glitch Pokemon. a genuine glitch Pokemon constitutes any glitch that can be encountered in game WITHOUT the use of a cheating or hacking devise. -- MAGNEDETH 18:59, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Then you're also trashing Five question marks, DP hybrids, and even Bad egg, right? (yes, you can't get that without cheating) If so, somebody should evacuate the GameShark glitch Pokémon articles into userspace or into another wiki, since I strongly oppose removing them. You should have told they don't belong here before people started working hard to find out information about them. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:24, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- right now we are focusing on Gen I only. some of the other Gen glitches are still notable despite being GS only, namely Bad Egg. i should have clarified. the main problem is that there are now a ton of articles containing little to no information on these things. as for asking everyone, if this were a serious issue, than yes, but given that 90% of the people that want to keep them are simply glitch Pokemon fanatics, then theres no real point in asking. im not overly opposed to keeping some information on them, they deserve to be mentioned, but we really, really dont need the boggling amount of pages for these things. we arent a glitch site, thats what those other sites are for. -- MAGNEDETH 19:29, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Okay. Is it OK if I copy the Gen I articles on my own user page and then compress them into a single article? If yes, give me a moment or two to collect the articles before deleting them from the mainspace. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:34, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sure that would be an appropriate action. Go ahead. MaverickNate 19:38, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- sure, go for it. just remove links and categories. -- MAGNEDETH 19:38, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I've got them copied over now at User:UltimateSephiroth/Evacuated glitch Pokémon articles and will start processing the article, so I'm not dependant on the mainspace versions anymore. However, please conserve the older version of the template here on the talk page as I made a little mistake which caused all small japanese U characters to turn into ?'s - I need the reference of the original names to fix them. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 21:52, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- rather annoyingly, i cant do that because it would create red links. lots of them. so fix your page quickly. remove links, official templates (notably evolution) categories, all of it. -- MAGNEDETH 21:58, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- After the two huge edits I made, I think I got everything out (I left the type efficiency templates intact because 1. they won't be deleted, 2. they don't categorize the page). I gotta go sleep now, but I don't need any references anymore. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 00:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

- So does this mean that we remove anything to do with GameShark generation I glitch Pokémon? Such as M p'u learning TM28 on the List of glitch moves? Or some GameShark glitch Pokémon's unique types being listed on the List of glitch types? --SnorlaxMonster 00:42, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- it does, and i already removed all of them. -- MAGNEDETH 00:52, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- OK, well you missed a few. I'll get them. --SnorlaxMonster 00:57, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- blargh. oh well, go get 'em tiger. -- MAGNEDETH 01:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think we should restore the article ".g". The version I saved states that it can be found with the Mew cheat by using the special stat of 238 (someone please confirm this?). (No idea why it was in the bottom part of this template.) UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 18:51, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Now that the template is smaller...
...would it be a good idea to combine it with Template:GlitchPkmnNonObtainable? --SnorlaxMonster 11:25, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- They were combined in the first place, and split when we started doing Glitch Pokémon that were only obtainable by GameShark. I'd say now we could easily re-combine the templates. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 11:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Evolution?
If 44hy evolves into Q under level 100, and PkMnaPkMnfPkMnk also evolves into another glitch Pokémon on the charts under level 100, should it be edited to say evolve PkMnaPkMnfPkMnk?--1ted59 glitches! ゥゥゥゥ!missingno! 01:12, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think simply 'Evolve' would suffice, rather than what specifically. --SnorlaxMonster 03:42, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- Should 'Evolve' then be on yellow also? --1ted59 01:18, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- "Evolve" should be on both. Now that it's unlocked again, I will change that. Also, should I put in the red links for these pages (glitches that can be found though legitimate methods) so that people know that they need to be made, or is making red links undesirable? --SnorlaxMonster 01:37, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Merge with other template
Here is a possibility. I'm not to great at editing templates, so it might need some tweaking:
- Template removed due to being implemented
--SnorlaxMonster 08:12, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- it looks pretty good to me besides all of the empty space in Generation 2, 3, and 4. not including that, it looks great. 1ted59 23:57, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Done. —darklordtrom 08:25, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Loophole
I realized that several of these Pokemon can indeed be encountered without a cheating device. I did a quick test and apparently if I make my name nothing but "PK" I have a good chance of running into Blue while surfing on the coast, and he sends out "8" which index number C9. If you used the Mew trick with that number you would encounter a Bug Catcher instead. After that it's followed by a Missingno, glitchy Nidorino, and then pkMn n (Index CC) Other trainers may send out Pokemon beyond Index number C8 as well. Perhaps you should change the rule to "be able to catch in R/B", because this loophole qualifies 90% of the glitch Pokemon to be added since you technically can encounter them.
Overall I do agree with the consensus after reading about it. I'm just trying to help prevent people in the future pulling that excuse. Koolboyman 11:22, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- But can you obtain them? TTEchidna 03:09, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- No, you cannot catch them. I am going by this rule:
- a genuine glitch Pokemon constitutes any glitch that can be encountered in game WITHOUT the use of a cheating or hacking devise.
- Guess what? You can encounter these glitches in glitched up trainer battles. Koolboyman 01:06, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Unown
Why is this listed on the template? It just redirects to Unown. OwnageMuch 03:25, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
