Kanto is the first region explored by the Generation I games Pokémon Green, Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow, as well as by the Generation III games Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Leaf Green. In this region Professor Oak gives the main character a choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle as their choice for a starter Pokémon. You start in Pallet Town and work your way through the Indigo Plateau to become the Pokémon League Champion.

Kanto in Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Leaf Green

In Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Leaf Green, you are able to visit the first two in a chain of islands known as the Sevii Islands. They are unlocked once you beat Blaine on Cinnabar Island. After you beat the Elite Four, you can then visit the other islands which make up this archapelago.
