== Descriptive names for rooms ==
The current names for the different rooms come from the Prima DP and Pt guidebooks. While these are okay, since we refer to these locations when discussing item locations, Pokémon encounters, and Trainers, I think we should really consider using more descriptive names. The descriptive names I created ended up getting used for the BDSP encounters, because I fed them as inputs for the code that generated the encounter tables.
This table describes the name of the location in each version of the Prima guidebook, and my proposed more descriptive name. (Note that the DP guidebook consistently refers to floors as "1 FL" etc. for above-ground floors, and "B1F" etc. for underground floors.)

Curiously, 2F is treated as a single room, even though it actually has 3 different rooms. Normally, different rooms have separate encounter tables, even when they are duplicates (such as Turnback Cave having one encounter table for every different pattern that can appear between pillars, despite being duplicates of each other). But for 2F, there's a single encounter table used for all three rooms (I did confirm that the 2F encounter table is used in the smaller rooms). At least in DPPt (not sure about BDSP), while standing in one of the two smaller 2F rooms you can see the other one, indicating that they're even in the same loading area. The guidebooks both also do not distinguish between the two small 2F rooms and the main area, just treating them all as a solitary 2F room.
Likewise, for 4F, both the main area and the small room (Room 2) share a single encounter table; 4F Room 3 has a different encounter table (that included Chimecho).
In contrast, the exterior is treated as two distinct areas, even though the two disjoint sections are visible from each other, and even have separate encounter tables (which are just duplicates of each other). The two sections do have different overworld weather, however.
The Platinum guidebook uses the terms "Lower", "Upper", and "Middle" to describe Mt. Coronet as a whole in the section header, but never uses these terms to refer to specific floors. "Lower" is used for the first visit (Route 207 to Route 208), "Upper" is used for the second visit (Route 211 to Route 216), and "Middle" is used for the third visit (Route 207/208 to Spear Pillar, including the same cave that was called "Lower" previously). --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 11:07, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Since Spear Pillar and the Hall of Origin are part of Mt. Coronet, shouldn't they just be described on this page? - Pacaman 07:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

That's like saying that Mt. Pyre is part of Route 122, though, in my eyes. --TTEchidna 07:50, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
No, it's more like saying the interior floors, the exterior area, and the summit of Mt. Pyre are part of Mt. Pyre. They are all part of the same mountain, so they are listed in the same article. Since Spear Pillar is the top Mt. Coronet and the only way to get to it is through Mt. Coronet, I think Spear Pillar should definately be included in this article. I guess I'm not as strong on including Hall of Origin, but I still think including the hall makes sense. -- Pacaman 18:33, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
By the same logic, shouldn't we just put everything in Sinnoh in its article? If there is enough to Spear Pillar to warrant a seperate page then it only needs a linked mention here. --FabuVinny T-C-S 19:15, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. I honestly should have used Viridian Forest and Route 2 as my examples instead. --TTEchidna 00:35, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
No, it doesn't have enough unique information to warrant it's own page. It's basically just another floor of Mt. Coronet. The summit of Mt. Pyre doesn't have a seperate article. Shoal Cave's "ice room" doesn't have its own article. Mt. Moon's basement doesn't have its own article. The room where Red is in Mt. Silver doesn't have a seperate article. Spear Pillar shouldn't either. - Pacaman 17:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

But the summit of Mt. Pyre is still known as Mt. Pyre. Shoal Cave's ice room is still known as Shoal Cave. Mt. Moon's basement is still known as Mt. Moon. Red's area is still known as Mt. Silver. Pokémon caught/hatched there have that as their caught area. However, if you hatch or catch a Pokémon at Mt. Coronet, it says it was caught there, while at Spear Pillar it says it was caught at Spear Pillar, and at the Hall of Origin it says it was caught at the Hall of Origin. --TTEchidna 23:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, when I see it that way, I guess you're right. - Pacaman 17:44, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Is it just me or is this article brutally out of date? Does anybody know enough about Mt Coronet to be able to at least update it with Platinum Pokemon?--Heyyopat 01:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Updating

Are there some Pokemon available for capture in Mt. Coronet that aren't mentioned on the page? I was looking at Dratini's page, and it said it could be captured in Mt. Coronet, but where is not specified (and unfortunately, I don't know or I would add the information myself). Matkin22 17:34, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Umm... I just came across TWO Nosepass in the summit, at DAYTIME, while it mentions, that they are not there. I didn't pay too much attention on the first one, but the second one was a female, level 38 one. This happened on Platinum.

It's 2am here and i encountered a clefairy. The encounter rate on platinum is not 0 at night. Two in a row at 2am. maybe not even 5% On the first floor it mean.

The Elusive Feebas

Are the four random tiles in which Feebas appears on the shoreline only? Or are they scattered throughout the water? The Jigglypuff Ninja 23:29, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Like after giving you the ability to fish while surfing they'd be nice and do that. TTEchidna 03:33, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Layout

Should the Items section be redesigned? Currently, every item located in Mt. Coronet seems to come under the Dialga / Palkia quest heading, despite the fact that some items don't require all the above HMs, and do require Rock Climb. I've also found an Escape Rope in plain view, and a hidden Max Potion, Super Repel and Max Revive that I'm reluctant to place into the list before I know it's helpful and reliable to the reader.

H4r8z0r 18:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, most of the items are available conveniently during the DP quest, while otherwise it takes a lot of backtracking. I dunno how exactly they're organized on this page, and since I'm not about to restart my game... TTEchidna 18:44, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Trivia addition?

Using the walk any where cheat it is possible to get to a plot of grass and on the east side wall there is a hole in the wall that looks like an entrance into the mountain but you can't go in. This is probably just a prototype entrance but I find it interesting. Is is good enough for the trivia section? Rucario64 13:35, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Do you mean that place where there is only one tuft of grass and then an entrance to the east? You can access that place by using rock climb, and the entrance leads right out of Mt Coronet,to the Celestic Town entrance.I think it's only one way.Uxie Legend 17:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Help.

I really need help to get to the spear piller in my Pokémon Pearl game because I been wandering through Mt. Coronet so much I think the floor is going to fall. PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!.Mglitch♀ 22:15, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

...don't be stupid. It's not like the Ice Path. It's nothing to get through.
Now go play your game. We're not a walkthrough. TTEchidna 22:25, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Abomasnow

Snover evolve to abomasnow at level 40 and a 38 aboasnow is there, shall i add it to trivia?

Just as a heads-up, don't forget to sign. No. There are lots of places (especially trainer battles) which do this. An example could be Mars' Purugly during your first battle with her --Hyurnat4 06:33, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Surfing Here

Is this the only place you can catch non-Water/Dragon-type Pokémon (like Zubat) while surfing? Is that worth mentioning in trivia, if it is true? --Crystal Shards 18:53, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

There's a location in every region where you can find Zubat/Golbat while surfing. It's nothing new. —darklordtrom 22:20, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Is it just one location in every region? If so, it might be worth mentioning, since it's... different? I dunno. That said, I don't know what the locations are, as for some reason Mr. Coronet was the first place I saw/noticed it, myself. --Crystal Shards 00:22, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
There's at least one. Put simply, if you can Surf, and you can find Zubat, you can find Zubat while surfing. It isn't really anything special. If you'd like an explanation, I guess the player finds the bats flying over the water. —darklordtrom 01:45, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Nah, I just thought maybe if it was a single place per region it'd be worth mentioning. Thanks though. --Crystal Shards 01:48, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I don't seem to recall being able to find Zubat or Golbat while surfing until Generation III. However, in Hoenn, finding Zubat or Golbat while Surfing wasn't a rare sight in many caves that had both water and Zubat and/or Golbat. --Shiningpikablu252 02:38, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Celestic shorcut blocker grunt

This guy is a living in-game reference to another grunt when he says "Yep, I'm hopelessly lost." But as TTE pointed out he's only there to serve as a roadblock. --Sting the Trainer 03:48, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon levels

The page needs changing. It says Chingling is available at 38-40 but I encountered one at 37--Lycos Ex Mortis 08:14, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon Rate in Platinum in Summit

The pokemon encounter rate in the summit area for the platinum pokemon is totally messed up in the article. With Bronzong being unavailable here in Platinum, and Nosepass and Absol added (as per the article), the encounter rates need to be altered, perhaps for the other pokemon too. Currently, it says Absol at 100% for Day and Night and Nosepass only 5% during the night. Also the total addd up as 100% for Morning, 195% for Day and 200% for Night. This needs to be cleared up. Ishu Bagaria. 16th Nov 2010.

Map

Where is Mt. Coronet? I see a map of Sinnoh, but no indication where Mt. Coronet is. I haven't played the game yet but I will soon, so I want to know where everything is. BrianPokemonTrainer 21:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Mt. Coronet is a very large mountain range exactly in the middle of the sinnoh region that streches a long way from north to south.

I'm very bad at making maps. We definitely need someone to put up maps for the different floors inside of Mt. Coronet. Ishu Bagaria 22:40, 14th November 2010 (UTC)

Items

The item list does not contain the items available for the platinum version for several floors. I will update them as I play the game and go through those areas. Please post here if you find any corrections. Thanks. Ishu Bagaria 22:45, 14th November 2010 (UTC)

Feebas levels?

I was playing Pearl ver. and I managed to find a square with Feebas. The Lv ranges from 10-20, which is utterly, totally different from the L20-50 shown in this article. Of course I could change the Lv to 10-50 but due to the lack of data I cannot accurately determine if 10-20 also holds for Diamond/Platinum and/or if 20-50 also holds true for Pearl (i.e. 20-50 for the other 3 squares?) I've tried searching the levels elsewhere but there wasn't any satisfactory results. Would anyone like to verify? ---> AquaDragon 09:21, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Whiscash

I found a level 53 Whiscash with the super rod in that big lake in Platinum. Perhaps the levels go up to 55? Tk3141 19:06, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Pokemon rate in Floor 1F (Route 207 Entrance) for Platinum

Again, the pokemon encounter rates do not add up and go well beyond 100%, especially for morning for this area. Most probably the difference arose due to addition of pokemon (Nosepass and Bronzor) available in this area in platinum which were not available in Diamond/Pearl. Thus the encounter rates for Platinum are different than those in Diamond/Pearl for other pokemon and need to be added. --Ishu bagaria (talk) 05:42, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

I found a Cleffa on the first floor in Pokemon Platinum. According to this article, it should only happen in Diamond and Pearl. (January 13 2021) - unsigned comment from Ummm (talkcontribs)

Method To Obtain Feebass

should we state this method on obtaining feebass

In order to find Feebas in Pokemon Pearl, there are a few things that you must have before you can go out and try to capture them:

1. A Pokemon that knows the HM 03 Surf :)
2. A Pokemon that knows the HM 06 Defog :)
3. A Pokemon that knows the HM 04 Strength :)
4. A Good Rod or Super Rod.
After you have all four of those things, Fly to Celestic Town and go west onto the Route there and enter Mt. Coronet through that entrance. After you enter Mt. Coronet there, you must head north and push aside the boulder that is blocking your path with Strength.
After that, head north and then west when the tunnel heads west (left). Go down the stairs and you should be in an area with a lot of fog. Use Defog and head west and then north, making sure to make your way down to the huge lake in this area of Mt. Coronet.
After you get to the edge of the water, use Surf and Surf all the way into the upper-right hand corner. From there, move 1 tile left and turn around and fish in the upper right hand corner. Make sure that you have the Good Rod set to the Y Button so that you can easily access it. Fish twice in the upper right hand corner, then move back into the upper right hand corner and turn left and fish twice in the tile directly left of you.
Continue this pattern until you finish that row, then fish twice in the tile directly down from the end of the row that you were on and then head back towards the upper-right hand corner (the row below it), fishing twice in every tile there is in that row.
Continue this process throughout the entire lake or until you find a Feebas.
Feebas only appear in 4 of the massive amount of tiles that are in the lake, and they only have about a 10-25% chance of appearing, so you might have to fish in every tile more than twice :)
Oh, I forgot to mention that the tiles that the Feebas appear in are completely different in every single game. While your friend might have found a Feebas in the upper-right hand corner tile, you might not.

This was a method posted on yahoo answers so I copyed it from there I think it should be stated - unsigned comment from just a simple edit (talkcontribs)

Some of this is already mentioned on the Feebas article. Not to mention that the rest doesn't seem to be article material. --Super goku (talk) 01:47, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

Percentages?

Where did they come from, some of them add up to more than 100, like the Dratini and Dragonair add up 135 instead.--Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 19:25, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Chimecho encounter rate in 7f

Both Serebii and PokemonDB say that Chimecho is more common in Mt. Coronet 7f in the mornings than the rest of the day, while this article says that the rate is constant. Who is right?

Another comment about Feebas's levels

According to both Serebii and PokemonDB, Feebas can be found up to level 40 in DP and 55 in Pt if fished using a super rod. Can someone please verify these encounter tables again? sumwun (talk) 23:57, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

I know this is over 6 months old, but I still hope someone can verify the tables. sumwun (talk, contribs) 17:31, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
Are there still people who read these comments and are able to verify the tables? sumwun (talk, contribs) 16:42, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Clarification

The naming of areas should be clarified. Using numbering (like 1F-1, 2F-2, etc.) throughout the article is fine for convenience, but if the numbers aren't clarified (like by saying which entrance a particular place is connected to), the numbering system becomes confusing. Someone who is familiar with the areas, please clarify. - unsigned comment from MasterCrobat (talkcontribs)

Okay done. From now on, try to remember to type 4 ~'s at the end of talk page comments. sumwun (talk) 21:12, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Room names

Is there a reason why the top 3 cave rooms named 4f 3, 5f, and 6f and not 5f, 6f, and 7f? sumwun (talk) 01:59, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

It's in the Pokemon Platinum guidebook. --celadonk (talk) 21:06, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
Okay thanks. sumwun (talk) 01:42, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

The BDSP trailer shown today spells it "Mount Coronet" in game footage. I'd advise waiting until the games launch just in case, but a move may be on the horizon. bwburke94 (talk) 21:55, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
