Link templates
Just to let you know, when linking to pages such as those for Pokémon species, we're supposed to use link templates: {{p|Pikachu}} rather than the usual [[Pikachu]]. Link templates will link directly to the species page while the other points to a redirect page first before going to the actual page (compare Pikachu vs. Pikachu). For a full list of link templates, see List of link templates. Thanks. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 05:26, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
Sparkling Skylands
The Sparkling Skylands is exclusively based on Saffron City, not Celadon City, as none of Celadon's landmarks can be found there, and its yellow color scheme matches that of Saffron City from the core series games. The large tower is Silph Co., as its design matches the Silph Co. tower and it houses the music disc containing the Silph Co. theme. -- FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:15, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- The Silph Co. Tower did not have a rooftop garden (whereas the Celadon Department Store does), and part of the Rocket HQ is visible beneath a building implied to be the Game Corner. Additionally, journal entries in the Sparkling Skylands include a mention of the Department Store being remodeled, which would explain the color change. UB00 (talk) 14:50, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- I admit, I did notice the Rocket Hideout, and true, now that I think about it, the area could indeed be a combination of Saffron and Celadon (I had actually thought the ruined building above the hideout was the Saffron Gym, given the floor color, but the Game Corner actually makes more sense than that), but the tower is absolutely Silph Co. The rooftop garden is likely just an addition made during the renovation, the building contains a Silph Co. theme music disc, and, most notably, the lobby (the only floor to stay the same despite the renovations) houses a fountain, just like the Silph Co. lobby. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:10, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- Almost forgot: I also thought the place above the hideout was the Gym because of the Poké Ball statues. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:11, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- It wouldn't make sense for the Celadon gym to have neon flooring. That being said, the lobby may have been renovated as per that journal entry, and the scaffolding surrounding the building as if it had been undergoing said renovations before being propelled behind the clouds supports that possibility further. As for the disc, the department store doesn't have a unique theme so it may have been placed there as an equivalent of some kind.--UB00 (talk) 17:29, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- I said the Saffron Gym, but your earlier statement regarding the Game Corner makes just as much, if not more sense than either Gym. As for the renovation; the fountain is there in the lobby before the renovation even begins, the scaffolding always surrounds every lower floor even below just the one that's being renovated, and Tinkmaster talks about just the second floor when checking the floors with Ditto and upon completing the first part of the renovation. And the disc containing the Silph Co. theme is not a unique case: don't forget that the S.S. Anne also contains a disc with its theme. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:02, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- The renovation I was talking about was the one mentioned in the Human Records entry, not the one we do with Tinkmaster; most likely, it was underway not long before the floating islands first formed. And while you do have a point with the discs the characteristics of the building don't match the Silph Co. layout precisely either- for a start, it has fewer floors. It is possible that they could have been destroyed previously, but if that was the case I would have expected significantly more wreckage than was actually present. --UB00 (talk) 20:29, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- I feel we need a third opinion. Otherwise, we'll just keep going in circles. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:19, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- True. For now let's just agree to disagree and not escalate this further. UB00 (talk) 15:17, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah. Wise choice. Which of us should contact someone for a tiebreaker opinion? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:25, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- Mind if I do it? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:01, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
