Base stat averages
Hi, can I ask how you came to the numbers you added to the base stat averages on the type pages? I calculated those myself and it seems we got different numbers. Did you end up with the same number of Pokemon in each group per type? If you notice, there's a little note under each table I added to try and make sure we're all calculating these numbers in the same way. Minibug (talk) 14:35, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- I forgot to put in how many pokemon I used, let me go and check that now. Facecheckislife (talk) 19:05, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- I just counted Ghost type since I had just done them. I counted 56 evolved and 87 overall pokemon, which include mega evolutions, all 4 types of Gourgiest and Pumpkaboo, Altered formes, regional forms, and distinct different types of pokemon, as I used both stats for Basculegion because male and female have distinct stats or for Ageislash different stances but I didn't do that for Jellicent and Frillish because their differences are only visual and do not have any differences between the male and female forms. Even adding up those and Gigantimax Gengar, I only got to 90 overall while it has listed 91 and I have no idea how you got 61 fully evolved ghost pokemon. - Here is a list with all the Pokemon I included in my counts for the Ghost-types, both lists match the two numbers I listed under the tables. I included all forms of all Pokemon as defined by the game internally, so not counting Gigantamax forms. Let me know if you have any questions with my methodology. - I didn't use Arceus or Sivally ghost since I hadn't since gen 7 but I can see how the argument can be made to use them. I also didn't use the different forms of Sinistcha and Poltageist and Sinistea and Polteagist because their different forms have no different affect or stats in game and other than using different items to evolve there is no difference to the pokemon in game. I also didn't use the busted Mimikyu form because it is just a visual representation of it's ability no longer working so the opponent can know that by the cue. It doesn't change Mimikyu in any way other than allowing it to take damage from damaging moves. Facecheckislife (talk) 21:32, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- So is there a specific guideline to use for adding up average stats for pokemon? Facecheckislife (talk) 16:56, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- No, I don't think so, I just want to make sure we're calculating these numbers in a consistent way so that users have an idea of how we got there. I don't think its necessarily a bad idea to exclude some Pokemon from the count like you did, I would just suggest updating the numbers under the table and listing the Pokemon you decided to not include. - I'll go back and redo them, adding in arceus and sivally and staying true to the other restrictions on pokemon. Thank you. Facecheckislife (talk) 21:55, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

Previewing edits
Hi there! I noticed you've been making several consecutive edits to pages recently. If you weren't aware, you can use the preview button to look over your edits before saving. You can also edit the whole page at once, rather than section by section, by clicking "Edit" at the top of the page. Doing these things can help limit the number of edits made in a short period, which reduces stress on the server and makes it easier to track changes over time. Hope you'll give it a try! Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your day! Landfish7 20:46, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- So half of my edits were after another user asked why his numbers and mine didn't add up. We were using drastically different pokemon for some types, that user used every conceivable form while I only used forms that are distinct forms. We met in the middle and I have been slowly redoing the numbers, typically one page a day. The other edits I will work on making one per stat sheet instead of two.
