Sawyer's Aegislash (Japanese: ショータのギルガルドShōta's Gillgard) is the fourth Pokémon owned by Sawyer.
History
As a HonedgeAs a DoubladeActivating Stance Change
Aegislash first appeared as a Honedge in A Meeting of Two Journeys! where it was the second Pokémon Sawyer used in his battle against Ash. It battled against his Pikachu but was easily defeated by Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
Sometime before A Full-Strength Battle Surprise!, Honedge evolved into Doublade. During Sawyer's battle against Ash, it was the first Pokémon sent out. It went up against Noivern. Even though it put up a long fight and stayed in the battle longer than when it was a Honedge, Doublade was defeated by Noivern.
In Analysis Versus Passion!, it had a rematch with Ash's Pikachu, Pikachu tried to attack Aegislash from a distance by hiding in the trees on the battle field, Sawyer then commands Aegislash to use Sacred Sword and cut down all the trees and Aegislash succeeds. The battle continued in A Riveting Rivalry!, where it ended up getting defeated by Pikachu.
Nothing much is known about Aegislash's personality but it was shown to have taken commands from Sawyer very well. It can also react to Sawyer's commands very fast, especially when using King's Shield.
