Pokémon Green and Blue (JP)

Split

As it stands, this template is unintuitive, cumbersome, and prone to user error. I propose that the template be split along the lines of Gameabbrev so that the inputs are easy to remember and linking groups of games within a single generation/series doesn't require multiple template transclusions. I haven't used this template much, but I agree that a split would make a lot of sense here. I only see one question that needs to be answered before the split can happen: how are we going to handle Colosseum and XD? Gameabbrev puts them in a subtemplate that's specific to side series/spin-off games, but they're the only non-core series games that are included in GameIcon, so it would be a little silly to create a subtemplate just for those two games. However, if we make a subtemplate for side games, we could easily add more options than just Colosseum and XD. So, are there situations where it'd be useful to have GameIcons for other side games? Or should Colosseum and XD just be added to the Gen 3 subtemplate? Storm Aurora (talk) 13:44, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
