Talk:Wave (disambiguation)

Against removal - I can see people looking for either of those moves when searching for "wave". The original redirect to the "Wave Badge" makes even less sense if you asked me. --Nayfaan (talk)(contributions) 16:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think its fine to stay personally, the disambig is better than whatever search results one would get by searching "wave"... given its use in other contexts I wouldnt want to direct this directly to the wave badge. 4iamking 16:27, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- The purpose of disambigs is not to aid in searching for things that contain the word. It's for helping find pages that are known by that term. This just opens up the possibility for disambigs for literally any word that has shared partial usage, which I feel is needlessly excessive. It also opens up the possibility of adding useless items to existing disambigs, which makes it harder to find the things people will actually be searching for. If people want to search "wave" because they can't remember the name of the move or whatever, they can look through the search results. This is exactly what the search function is for. My vote is for against removal as well, even though I do agree that removing the moves with the word "wave" in them from this disambiguation page was the correct choice. My reasoning is based on the fact that, with Pokémon Winds and Waves now announced, it's far more likely for people to search for something on this site using the word "wave". -- FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:49, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Agreed. Landfish7 12:51, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
