Talk:Trap

It may be an insignificant bit of information, but if we're including "Volkner looks like Yondaime Hokage" as relevant trivia information, then this must not be completely nonsensical. I've had this happen on rare instances in the Underground--- when the computer which lays traps near sphere hotspots accidentally lays a trap underneath a merchant. The merchant will send out a white sparkle light on the touch screen and it is impossible to speak with the merchant without retrieving the trap he is standing on. (Unless you wait a while/ exit the Underground, then the trap may just disappear).

Should this information be added to the Trap article, and if so, where? RWMVG1DC 16:50, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mystery Dungeon traps?

should we add information on the various traps found in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series in this article? Turtwig A Contributions 02:22, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Crater traps?

I have yet to see any Crater traps in my game, although I don't usually peruse the trap merchants' stuff, so it's possible I've just never encountered one before. ---Spudwalt 20:46, 14 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move

We're long overdue to move the List of moves that cause entry hazards page to "Trap", now that "entry hazard" is an erroneous term (at least in the case of Z-A). This page should then be moved to Trap (Underground) to make way for that article to have the title as the primary topic. Landfish7 23:22, 4 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

While I'm not necessarily opposed to disambiguating this title as traps in this sense haven't been relevant for years I think moving "entry hazards" to this page would be a mistake as "traps" in ZA also refers to more traditional trapping moves like Whirlpool and Fire Spin so I thus think it's a seperate concept from either of the categories and it would be less confusing to have it in a seperate article like "Traps (ZA)". "Entry hazard" will still need to be moved to "Trap" as that has been the official name for a long time now. As far as Z-A, we can decide whether those nuances can be explained on the same page or whether the concept truly needs split out (that might be better discussed at Talk:List of moves that cause entry hazards). I fully support this move. It's long past time for in-battle traps to have their own proper page (instead of just the list of moves page), and this page does not deserve the primary title more than they do. I think "Trap (Underground)" is a good title for this page. SnorlaxMonster 14:10, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I've shared some relevant info from my research here. Landfish7 15:32, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
