Capitalization

This article is inconsistent in its usage of Special Pokémon versus special Pokémon, and the current VGC documents don't use the term AFAIK so I can't check for myself. Does anyone know which is the official capitalization? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:31, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am fairly sure it is supposed to be lowercase, but I actually cannot remember the source for that. The term has never appeared in VGC documents (I have copies of the documents going back several years). --SnorlaxMonster 11:18, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
The term is not capitalized on the GTS in Generation VI. --SnorlaxMonster 08:46, 17 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Lists

This article counts as a list, right? Should it be added to the pokelist template? sumwun (talk) 23:32, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Untradable

Special Pokémon are not tradable in the Surprise Trade in Scarlet and Violet. I figured I should point this out. UxieLover1994 (talk) 11:39, 18 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Forms

Is there any point in listing forms here? Does it differ for any Pokémon depending on form? If forms are important, then Origin Forme Palkia/Dialga, Crowned Zacian/Zamazenta, and 10%/Perfect Zygarde are missing. WOLKsite (talk) 03:37, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well Ash-Greninja is sort of a hybrid as it's banned from ranked battles. Can't say about the rest being important though, but I may be the wrong person to ask. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 03:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Name

Isn't these called restricted legendary Pokemon or is it just VGC players calling them that Re-Stopping (talk) 15:30, 26 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

The term "restricted Pokémon" is used synonymously by TPCi. The way the SV news uses the term is by adding "restricted" as a qualifier to "special Pokémon", but there's no direct equivalent to "restricted" in Japanese. --Abcboy (talk) 00:51, 16 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Pokémon HOME

Home has a GTS filter for "Legendary, Mythical, and other special Pokémon" which filters UBs, as well as a tracking category "Popular Pokémon (excluding special Pokémon)" which filters the main list minus Terapagos plus Walking Wake/Iron Leaves. In addition, Mythicals and Pokémon with certain ribbons are described as special Pokémon and cannot be traded on the GTS. This is incredibly inconsistent usage, but at least some mention of this should be made in the Terminology section. Eragon4 (talk) 13:22, 30 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
