Talk:Sky Attack (move)

Signature move

As far as i could tell from the signature moves page, it counted all methods of learning the move. So since sky attack was a TM in gen 1 i dont think it was moltres signature move, since 8+ other pokemon could learn it. That also makes it not work for gen 2 because of the ability to move pokemon over. - unsigned comment from Gardeford (talkcontribs)

It was a signature move only in Generation II. Connecting to a previous Generation isn't considered for signature moves. Glik (talk) 18:17, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Farfetch'd

The Farfetch'd page says he learns the move as well via TM... Can anyone add that information, or confirm it at the very least? Redstar 08:53, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Um... no it doesn't. —darklordtrom 09:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Three other sites say no. It's been removed. —darklordtrom 09:23, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lugia

Lugia can learn Sky Attack at Lv. 99, yet I don't see Lugia on the Page under "By level up" Truthseeker4449 20:08, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Looks like it was accidentally removed during the (ongoing) template upgrade. Werdnae (talk) 22:08, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

High Critical-hit ratio

Can anyone confirm that Sky Attack still lacks a high critical-hit chance? I'm pretty sure I've seen it get WAY too many crits for a 'normal' move...that just may be me being unlucky, but the 'information' is still pretty old. So in general, I'd like that Trivia statement checked for two reasons: 1. It's old information (I swear it's been unchanged for years) 2. Personal experience of it getting more crits than normal. Okay, so it looks like the article is now divided on whether the move has a HCHR (it's even placed into the category). The gen III effect has added it into the article, yet the trivia has remained the same. How are we going to deal with this and what needs to change? I AM so Viet 19 03:48, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

clarification on sleep effect

I'm writing a pokemon battle for a fic, and I want to know what would happen in this situation. Game is gen 1 English red/blue (have not decided on a version between them, just cover both if there are differences). Scene is that a wild pokemon had charged sky attack, while the trainer attempted to catch it with an ultra ball, which missed the target. The trainer's mon is faster, and they attempt to sleep the wild pokemon with stun spore so it would be easier to catch. Stun spore lands, so the wild pokemon is asleep. Afterwards, if sky attack connects that turn, (which i will make it if is possible), the trainer's pokemon will faint. If it does not connect that turn (if it's delayed by sleep), then the pokemon won't faint. I want to make the battle accurate, so i want to know which would happen. So, I need to know does "pause but not disrupt" mean

-if and only if the pokemon is slept on the turn it is charging the move, it will wait (a pokemon that is slept on the turn sky attack would hit and only on that turn would still attack)

-if the pokemon is slept during the move, regardless of which turn, will wait (a pokemon will wait until sleep ends to hit or charge sky attack)

-if and only if the pokemon is asleep on the turn it will land the move, it will wait (a charging pokemon that is slept the turn it charges (it goes first) sky attack will charge, then, if it is still asleep, wait until it wakes up to hit the opponent)

I felt like this would be a good place to ask for clarification LinguisticsVictim (talk) 07:50, 27 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
