Unauthorized move
Shouldn't there be at least some discussion before moving this page, especially considering that it's a politically-heavy thing. The Turkish government may insist on calling their country "Türkiye" in all possible languages, but this practice is still far from being widespread. It's a thing for diplomats and politicians, anyway. Colloquial names exist and there's time and place for using them, for example when talking about a children's video game. We're not bound by any diplomatic protocol here, there's no need to be this correct. I'd say move the page back. --Maxim (talk) 14:45, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- I agree, Google maps doesnt doesnt even label the country as "Türkiye"... There is a bigger case for Pokémon in the Czech Republic to be moved since the Czech government has been lobbying for a change and it is more internationally recognised as "Czechia" but we haven't done that yet.
