Table formatting

Can we make the tables look like this?

Species Location Level Notes
Sudowoodo Sudowoodo Route 36 20 Requires SquirtBottle

I'm pretty sure locations and levels are more relevant than types for this article. Also it's much easier to add missing Pokemon to tables that are formatted like this. sumwun (talk, contribs) 19:03, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I like that idea. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 00:28, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
sumwun - Thanks for improving the tables. I think we can agree that having this list with added details is better than before. Please keep up the good work.
However, I think the previous style (a simple table with images and no text) was nice too. So I disagree with you saying it was bad in the edit summary. As in, you're free to think the previous style was bad in your opinion, but my opinion is different.
When I reverted that earlier revision, it was just a small incomplete Emerald table with 2 Pokémon. As you know, the information was not even lost; it was kept in the old revision in case you would like to use it and keep making tables using that style.
I'm still not a big fan of having an inconsistent style like we still have now, but about half of the tables are converted so I guess we can keep them until all the work can be done. I added a template requesting the work to be finished when possible. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 23:39, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Pitched in with new tables for Gen I and FRLG. I may make more tables tomorrow if I find the time. --AmbientDinosaur (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just did the Latias/Latios encounter for HG/SS. Can't do anything else, though. Might do this tomorrow. Ben79487 05:11, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm doing BW, so in the meantime can anyone not do that, please? Here's the link (second section in sandbox) User:Ben79487/Sandbox Ben79487 05:49, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

How to fix confusing sentence structure in OR/AS table?

Hello Wikipedians,

I've updated the OR/AS table as per the discussion above, but have run into some problems on the ORAS table -- namely, the entry for Raikou. Do you have any suggestions for representing xx:00 to xx:19? Right now I put "from the 0th minute to the 19th minute of the hour", but I'm convinced it needs some work.

Also, what do we put on the locations for the dimensional rifts/storm clouds encountered when soaring in the sky? Again, I'm slightly confused on what to put there, so I need your help.

Thanks in advance,

Move to List of static encounter Pokémon

Everyone calls them static encounters. It would be a better article title. PikaRikaChu (talk) 03:24, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Agreed, less clunky and avoids confusion with event Pokémon. Biblical Bambi (talk) 05:47, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
This list also includes roamers and those are not static. Kikugi (talk) 12:29, 22 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think I kinda agree, im not a fan of the term "in-game events" in general could even be something like "special encounters" to include roaming Pokémon, though its worth noting they already have their own article, so maybe we can decide its out of scope for this page and just link to there as a related article. If we do change it here though I think we ought to do same for the other pages that use this terminology. 4iamking 13:06, 22 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
If "static encounter" doesn't work, we can also go with "fixed encounter" Biblical Bambi (talk) 01:20, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I understand that the current title could be improved, but "Fixed encounters" isn't a correct alternative since it would be confused with fixed symbol encounters (e.g. any wild Tera Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet, or the granted alphas in the Legends games). I agree that "Static Pokémon" would work if Roaming Pokémon are excluded, at least they already have their page. Croma (talk) 11:59, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how popular "static encounter" is, but if it is, it is the best alternative, because it's the most accurate and can't be confused with anything else. We can remove roamers, since they have their own article, move the page, and perhaps add the "fan designator" disclaimer, since I don't think an official one exists? Kikugi (talk) 18:50, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think this is the way, one other note is I'd just simply go with "Static encounters" as a page title, since the article is more than a listacle. 4iamking 21:03, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
"Static encounter" would fit BP:TITLE more. I do think we should dig a bit more to see if there really isn't any sort of official descriptor we could use though. Landfish7 22:14, 23 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
