will this ball be more effective than an Ultra Ball if tring to catch one of the Pychic Legendary Pokémon? --Bentendo 19:02, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Ultra Ball's effectiveness is 2x catch rate. Dusk Ball's effectiveness is 4x if used at night or in a cave. Therefore, Uxie and Azelf will catch the full advantage of the ball all the time. Mesprit, however, roams, so it can be caught outside during the day, leading to a 1x catch rate if used then. If you wait until nighttime, though, to go after it, it'll be 4x. Same for Cresselia, which is also both Psychic and legendary.
Heck, the Timer Ball is just as effective as a Dusk Ball used at night is after 30 turns. Use them together, and you're pretty much set. --TTEchidna 20:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Dusk Ball Effect in Indoor Areas

I have not verified it myself, but according to thorough testing by the speedrunner Werster, the Dusk Ball only applies a 1x catch rate modifier when in an indoor area that is not a cave, even at night. His testing was in Generation V, but I would assume this fact applies to all generations. Qwertyuiop13 (talk) 00:27, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

I informed Dragonfree of The Cave of the Dragonflies about Werster's claim, and she looked into it, and found that this only applies in Generation V, not in Gen 4 or Gen 6 onward. According to Werster, this specifically applies to Strange House and Volcarona's room in Relic Castle. --SnorlaxMonster 14:44, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Dusk Balls in Raid Dens

Would Dusk Balls have the 3.5x multiplier applied in Raid dens, as they seem cave-like? Thanks Ya6664 (talk) 01:05, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

IIRC They do not have a 3.5x multiplier during the day. Landfish7 03:35, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
