I mentioned this in the discord, but I don't think short stubby articles like this or Ancient hero are helpful. If all known information can be summarized in just a few paragraphs, wouldn't it make more sense to place this information in the articles its relevant in instead of directing users to a different page? -Minibug (talk) 17:10, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't disagree, though I should like to know where you think this info would best be centrally located (if it isn't already there). If that info fits snuggly there, then we can just have this page redirect to that page/section. Landfish7 00:18, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't have a particular problem with this article existing. The best place to cover it otherwise might be on the Sinnoh article? I think it's fine to have a short article, as long as there's something substantial to say about it (which I believe there is in this case) and there isn't another article it could neatly fit into as a section. --SnorlaxMonster 03:23, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Looked through the game script on Poké Corpus to see if I could add references for anything written on this page. As far as I can tell, none of it is directly supported by the text. The Celestica people mentioned in the Old Verses as a people that lived in Hisui in the past whose name was usurped by the Diamond and Pearl Clans, but nothing else is directly attributed to them. If I've missed something, I would appreciate if it's added to the page with a citation. However, since the majority of what's written here is spurious, I believe this page ought to be deleted. --Apopheniac (talk) 18:52, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

In addition to this and the other discussion above, this page isn't necessary at all. It's inconsistent and feels as if it's improperly connected. Anythign considered "substantial" in this situation feels incredibly made up or incorrectly connected. Short articles are fine, but this page doesn't agree with what is said in the game dialogue (or describes it very well, in which the page is low-quality instead). I'd recommend it and the ancient hero page to be removed, and if the someone can actually create a page, then it'd be fine to have it up again. The information here can fit on either Hisui's page or in another page such as "history and legends of Sinnoh" in which we already have multiple of. The information here is just too few, and as much as I don't mind repeat information, this doesn't feel like one of them. TrainerSplash (talk) 09:56, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

We could always merge it/the citationed information with Hisui. Welkamo (talk) 17:18, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

My issue with the page is that most of this information can't be cited. As far as I'm aware, nothing in the text directly points to them being the same as the Sinnoh people, or to their having constructed any of the ruins found in-game, or to any relationship with noble/ride/legendary Pokémon. What's currently on the Hisui page about the Celestica is also junk. -- Apopheniac (talk) 18:46, 29 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
All we actually have confirmed on the Celestica People is what was told in the old verses—which is basically just who they worshipped and the usurpers in the Diamond and Pearl Clan. This information could easily moved to Hisui and/or Cogita. As for Cogita being the one who wrote the old verses, it's only speculation and should stay in the trivia section—it's just as possible that the descriptions of the old verses applied to the last remaining descendants of the Celestica. Cogita likely inherited the role of waiting for the hero, the friendship with the god of spring (and the knowledge of it not liking the cold), as well as any connections of abandonment. It's not a stretch to say that she is really just an ancestor of the Celestica, which would make one more thing on this page non-factual. Zoltron19 (talk) 03:48, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

There seems to be broad consensus in favor of deleting this page and merging relevant content into another page. Is this content already suitably covered elsewhere, or would someone be willing to see through moving it over, probably to the Hisui page? This page could perhaps then simply redirect to the appropriate section there. Landfish7 13:28, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah that would work well and ensure all of this imformation is lcoated on one page and not lost.Jacob9594 (talk) 15:42, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
A good next step would be to remove any speculation or irrelevant info from this page, and then go from there. Landfish7 15:58, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Just to emphasize: as I stated previously, the only things stated in the article that are known to be accurate are:
  • The Celestica people are mentioned in the Old Verses as a people that lived in Hisui in the past
  • Their name was usurped by the Diamond and Pearl Clans
This will be a process of removing junk, not of preserving it. -- Apopheniac (talk) 20:18, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
