Composition of Booster
Does anyone know the composition of the booster packs? I mean how many Common, Uncommon or Rare card was there in a pack, and how was the chance to get an holographic rare and/or a Pokémon ex/Lvl.X/☆/... ? 07:52, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Here is the sum of my own personal research on Booster Packs. Take it with a grain of salt, I stopped collecting around the time Neo began to release, and can't verify most of the information except from what I've learned through others.

Looking to add booster pack art
Hi, I’m looking to have multiple rows taken up by a certain character and have it for each pack they are on the cover for. You know like how it’s done for the TCG character pages when it shows different prints of the same card. However, for this, I want to have the image of the character, whether that’s a pokemon or a human. Do you think you can help me? Thanks! User:4iamking Vinnylospo (talk) 04:32, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- Not fully sure what your trying to accomplish but imo the best way to go about it is making a subpage, say List of Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs then we can make a table with all the pack artworks sorted in chronological order by set release (which could also be made to be sortable based on the Pokémon that appear). 4iamking 11:21, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- I mean the stuff I’ve been doing here. Booster pack (TCG)#Pack artwork Vinnylospo (talk) 13:29, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- I think that sounds like a good idea. Would we have only international or would we also have Japanese too? Vinnylospo (talk) 13:31, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- I would want it based on national dex number as well as chronological. Vinnylospo (talk) 16:50, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- That would certainly be possible; depending on the layout of the table, it can be made sortable. It would likely be best to enter the data in chronological order, then it can be sorted by Pokédex number, alphabetically, and so on. I will say that I agree with 4iamking about it being on a separate page; bear in mind that there are around 700 different booster pack designs throughout the history of the card game, in a wide variety of different languages, not just English and Japanese; regions such as China, Indonesia, and Thailand have also had their own exclusive designs. Putting all of that on this page could bloat it quite a bit, so putting it on a separate page - with a link from this one - might be the way forward. We have a Draft: namespace which is perfect for work-in-progress pages, so perhaps it would be worth creating a page there and working on it bit by bit? Cipher (talk) 19:22, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah I would agree with that. That sounds like a good gameplan to do. Vinnylospo (talk) 19:24, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- Can you please help me with it? Vinnylospo (talk) 17:17, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not super active at the moment, but we can certainly look into making a little start for you in the next couple of weeks. If one of us were to create a draft page and make a start on a table with sortable headers, then maybe add a couple of booster packs to get you started, would that help you get the ball rolling? Cipher (talk) 20:03, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- I’ve already been doing that on the Booster Pack page itself. Also unrelated but can still work, I’ve noticed that we still don’t yet have a page for booster boxes or booster bundles. I also do want to compile what characters are on the most number of each of them. Same when it comes to the decks in both physical and pocket. The TCG side needs a lot of work and I want to help make that into reality. Vinnylospo (talk) 12:37, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- The current list on the booster pack page is overwhelming the other content quite a bit, even while only being something like 10-20% done. It will most likely need another solution, potentially one of the ones suggested by 4iamking/Cipher. It's a very niche datapoint in general. MaverickNate 00:11, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah maybe it can be its own page Vinnylospo (talk) 00:09, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
