Sword of Ruin (Japanese: わざわいのつるぎ Sword of Ruin) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Chien-Pao.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Sword of Ruin is sent into battle, Sword of Ruin decreases the Defense stat of all Pokémon on the field other than Pokémon with this Ability by 25%. The effect does not stack if more than one Pokémon with Sword of Ruin is on the field. The effect ends when no Pokémon with Sword of Ruin are in battle.

If Wonder Room is in effect, the Special Defense stat is decreased instead.
