In ''[[PS508|The Lesson Ends Here]]'', N met [[Alder]] and challenged him to a [[Double Battle]]. Black, White, and [[Iris]] arrived in time to witness Alder losing the battle. Reacting to Zekrom's presence, the [[Light Stone]] in Black's possession turned into {{DL|Tao trio (Adventures)|Reshiram}}, only to revert back into its stone form immediately afterward. N attempted to leave, but was was attacked by [[Cedric Juniper]], who demanded to know where the [[Gym Leader]]s kidnapped by Team Plasma were being held captive. Black, White, and Cedric teamed up to defeat N's Pokémon, but he still refused to tell them where Team Plasma's base was located. As he flew away on Zekrom, N heard its voice, learning that it wished to battle Black after he fully awakened Reshiram.

In ''[[PS520|Cold Hard Truth]]'', Team Plasma launched their attack on the {{un|Pokémon League}}, surrounding the building with [[N's Castle]]. As a form of mockery and display of Team Plasma's power, the Gym Leaders were hoisted on cross-like fixtures and displayed in front of the masses. Having awakened Reshiram, Black battled against N and Zekrom in the skies above the castle. Due to not being used to fighting with Reshiram, Black struggled, but with Cedric's help, he learned how to utilize Reshiram's abilities properly and dealt a heavy blow to Zekrom with Reshiram's {{m|Fusion Flare}}. Zekrom quickly got back up and fled into the castle with Black and Reshiram following after them. They continued their battle, but a second Zekrom appeared to assist the first. Easily seeing through the ruse, Black had Reshiram attack the real Zekrom, defeating it. The second Zekrom revealed itself to be {{TP|N|Zorua}}, who had remained to help N despite him releasing all of his friends prior to the attack on the League. Black told N that Zorua wished to stay with him despite being released. N understood Zorua's wishes, but both ended up passing out.
