Release information

This card is part of a series of Holofoil Full Art illustration rare-style cards that depict first partner Pokémon, released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Each card in this series features the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo.

In mainland China, this card is released as a 30th-P Promotional card in the "30th Anniversary Celebration — First Partner Pokémon Special Illustration Holofoil Card Set Vol. 1" product, which includes a random selection of nine Holofoil Full Art cards depicting the first partner Pokémon from the Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola regions.[1] This card is released internationally as an MEP Black Star Promotional card included in the First Partner Illustration Collection Series 1, released on March 20, 2026, the same date as the mainland China release.[2]

In Japan, this card is released in the 30th CELEBRATION Card Set Rowlet & Litten & Popplio product on October 16, 2026.[3]

Trivia

This card forms a combined illustration with the MEP Promotional Litten and Popplio, together representing the first partner Pokémon trio of the Alola region.

Origin
