This Pokémon migrated to Paldea from distant lands long ago. The gel secreted by its feathers repels water and grime.

Release information

This card is part of a series of Holofoil Full Art illustration rare-style cards that depict first partner Pokémon, released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Each card in this series features the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo.

In mainland China, this card is released as a 30th-P Promotional card in the "30th Anniversary Celebration: First Partner Pokémon Special Illustration Holofoil Card Set Vol. 3" product, which includes a random selection of nine Holofoil Full Art cards depicting the first partner Pokémon from the Hoenn, Kalos, and Paldea regions. This card is released internationally as an MEP Black Star Promotional card included in the First Partner Illustration Collection Series 3, released on August 7, 2026, the same date as the mainland China release.

In Japan, this card is released in the 30th CELEBRATION Card Set Sprigatito & Fuecoco & Quaxly product on October 16, 2026.

Trivia

This card forms a combined illustration with the MEP Promotional Sprigatito and Fuecoco, together representing the first partner Pokémon trio of the Paldea region.

Origin

Wing Attack is a move in the Pokémon games that Quaxly can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Scarlet.

The illustration features various elements and locations from the Generation IX games:

• A Terastallized Quaxly with the Water Tera Type.
• Part of Naranja Academy.
• The Violet Book.
• Area Zero.
• The city of Levincia.
• Badges obtained from the "★ Starfall Street ★" storyline: Fire, Dark, Fighting, Poison, Fairy.
• A Revavroom installed on the Segin Starmobile, part of the aforementioned "★ Starfall Street ★" storyline.
• The Icerend Shrine and one of the stakes required to unlock it.

Additionally, the artworks across the three Paldea First Partner Illustration Collection cards primarily use the colors scarlet and violet, representing the Generation IX games Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
