Pokémon is the opening theme song for the Italian-language dub of the first season of Pokémon the Series as distributed by Mediaset. It was used from EP001 to EP057. The opening animation mainly consists of clips from various episodes of the season, but also footage from the first English opening, Pokémon Theme.

Trivia

• This opening theme, unlike its Japanese and English counterparts:
  • does not feature Gary, Delia, or Professor Oak.
  • is not used for the entire Kanto arc of Pokémon the Series: The Beginning.
• All of the main characters' Pokémon in the first season are featured in the animation, except for one each.
  • Ash's 30 Tauros are also not shown, but the episode they were caught in was banned, and they didn't reappear until Ash's return to Pallet Town in EP065, when the second season had already begun.
• Even though this song was also used as the ending theme, it stopped just before the "4Kids Productions" screen, with the last few seconds from an instrumental version of Pokémon Theme being played instead up to the final "Pokémon" logo animation.
• This song was included in various compilations dedicated to all the cartoons for which Mediaset owned the distribution rights.

Errors

• Brock's Zubat is shown to be capable of carrying Ash's Squirtle while flying, despite not having any visible way of doing so.
• In the picture that Psyduck takes, Raichu's normally white belly is orange.
