Release information
This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare, and a special illustration rare in the Paldea Evolved expansion, first released in the Japanese Clay Burst expansion. The Regular and Full Art prints feature artwork by Sanosuke Sakuma, while the special illustration rare print features artwork by kirisAki. In Japan, the Regular print of this card was reprinted in the Ruler of the Black Flame Deck Build Box, in both Terastal Starter Sets, the Venusaur & Charizard & Blastoise Special Deck Set ex, in both Starter Deck & Build Sets, in the Stellar Miracle Deck Build Box, and in both Stellar Tera Type Starter Sets. The Regular print was also reprinted in the special Paldean Fates expansion alongside a special illustration rare print featuring new artwork by hanabushi—both of these prints originated from the Japanese Shiny Treasure ex subset.
A Reverse Holofoil version of the Regular print was used as a promotional card for the 2024 Championship Series Regionals. This print features the "Pokémon Trading Card Game Championships: Regional" logo in the bottom right corner of the card artwork. A version of the card with a "Staff" stamp was also handed out to event staff. In Japan, the Regular print was reprinted again in both Battle Master Decks, and with the Pokémon Card Gym logo as one of seven SV-P Promotional cards available in Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Pack 6, which was distributed at Pokémon Card Gym venues able to do so from April 26, 2024.[1]
A new Full Art print of the card with artwork by yuu was included as a SVP Black Star Promo in the Iono Premium Tournament Collection, together with three Cosmos Holofoil copies of the Regular print from Paldea Evolved with an exclusive Iono Zone logo stamp. This Full Art print is released in Indonesia and Thailand as part of the "Tactics Deck Point Exchange" promotional event from August 16 to October 31, 2024. Participants can obtain points by buying Tactics Deck products and attending special Tactics Deck Battle tournaments. For 14 points, participants are eligible to redeem the Iono card, which will be distributed from November 25 to December 31, 2024.[2][3]

Trivia
- This card's effect is similar to that of N, first released in the Noble Victories expansion. The only difference is that N shuffles both players' hands into their respective decks, while Iono puts both players' hands on the bottom of their decks.
- This card appears in a key role in the third episode of Pokémon: Path to the Peak as part of Edgar Troy's strategy.
Origin
Iono is the Gym Leader of the Levincia Gym in Paldea. The Levincia Gym's battle court is featured in the Regular print's illustration.
