Expert Mode
Expert Mode (Japanese: EXモード EX Mode) is a difficulty mode in Pokémon Sleep, added in the version 2.11.0 on August 7, 2025 into the game.
Mechanics
Expert Mode makes raising Snorlax more difficult and requires more strategic helper team planning. In exchange for the raised difficulty the player receives better rewards from weekly Missions and ranks.
Unlocking Expert Mode
In order to unlock Expert Mode, the player has to raise the Snorlax in that area to a specific rank.
| Location | Required Snorlax rank |
|---|---|
| Greengrass Isle | Master 18 |
After the player unlocks Expert Mode for the area, they need one
Expert Ticket (Japanese: EXチケット EX Ticket) to take on Expert Mode for the week. Expert Tickets can be bought with
Sleep Points at the Sleep Point Exchange.
If the player wants to change the current week's Snorlax's favorite Berries, requested Dishes and Expert Mode bonuses, they need both the E-Zzz Travel Ticket and an additional Expert Ticket.
Bonuses and rewards
In Expert Mode, Snorlax's favorite Berries are divided into one main favorite Berry and two sub-favorites. Pokémon that gather Snorlax’s main favorite Berry receive bonuses while Pokémon that don’t gather any of Snorlax’s weekly favorite Berries have their helping frequency extended by 15% as a penalty. Helper Pokémon that gather the main favorite Berry receive two fixed bonuses and helper Pokémon that gather any of the three favorite Berries receive one bonus selected at random every week.

The rewards from researching on an Expert area differ from the ones on a regular area:
