This Frienda Pick was given away at participating locations with a Pokémon Frienda machine from November 29, 2025 in conjunction with the Charizard's Charge campaign, which saw Charizard's Mega Evolved forms depicted across several media:

• The distribution of an Alpha Charizard for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
• The inclusion of Mega Charizard Y ex in the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
• The debut of Mega Charizard Y in Pokémon UNITE.
• The ability to recruit Lance & Charizard in Pokémon Masters EX for the first time, whose Charizard could Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard Y. Another opportunity to recruit Sygna Suit Red & Charizard was presented as part of the Sygna Suit Red Guaranteed Ticket Scout.
• The giveaway of two Charizard Special Frienda Picks as part of the Pokémon Frienda Mega Happy Holiday Lottery.
• The giveaway of a Monster Collection Mega Charizard X Sparkling Version figure.
• The inclusion of Mega Charizard Y ex in the Crimson Blaze expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
• A 45-second short titled Mega Evolution Showdown "Mega Charizard Y VS Mega Starmie" was uploaded to the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel. It also aired alongside HZ122.

Stock permitting, people that said "please give me a Frienda Pick!" to staff were given a copy of this Frienda Pick.

It was available again as part of the Pokémon Frienda Exploration Tour. Those waiting in line to play on a Pokémon Frienda machine were eligible to receive a copy of this Frienda Pick, a set of PokéDoko & Frienda Original Stickers, and one of six physical Support Pokémon Tickets at random. Visitors with Trainer Picks could also participate in a photo session with the Frienda Navigators and Frien-dan. Participating venues included:

• Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo on December 27, 2025
• Pokémon Center Nagoya on January 11, 2026
• Pokémon Center Osaka DX and Pokémon Center Okinawa on January 25, 2026
