Rulings

  • If Battle Cage is in play, and a player uses any attack or Ability that moves damage counters from any Pokémon to the opponent's Benched Pokémon, the damage counters will be removed from the source Pokémon but won't be placed on the target Benched Pokémon due to the Stadium's effect, ultimately removing the damage from play altogether. If the player targets the opponent's Active Pokémon, the attack or Ability will place the damage counters as usual.[1][2]
    • For example, with Battle Cage in play, a player can use Munkidori's "Adrena-Brain" Ability to remove 3 damage counters from their Pokémon, but the damage counters cannot then be placed on the opponent's Benched Pokémon.[1][2]
    • If Battle Cage is in play and a player uses Alakazam's "Strange Hacking" attack to move damage counters from the opponent's Pokémon to their Benched Pokémon, Battle Cage will prevent the damage counters from being placed and the damage counters are simply removed, even though the damage counters originated from the opponent's Pokémon.[1]
  • If Battle Cage is in play, and a player uses Dusclops or Dusknoir's "Cursed Blast" Ability and targets the opponent's Benched Pokémon, the Pokémon using the Ability will still be Knocked Out even if no damage counters can be placed.[1][2]
