About YeOldeJacob
Hello and welcome to my userpage.
I suppose the simplest way to describe myself would be as a cynical, misanthropic narcissist.
I would like pursue a career in the film industry, and I would also like to venture into voice-over work, the idea of an inanimate character being brought to life because of one's voice is something I'd love to experience. . . but alas, those are simple dreams that shan't be realized.
I enjoy embodying personae of which I'm not similar to, if only to play devil's advocate. Due to this, there aren't too many people who know my actual viewpoints on things, and I find that rather amusing. . . although I suppose once one reads this page that is all for not.
I love to debate. Anything from politics, to religion, to social matters, to film. You name it, I'll argue about it. If you share my opinion, I'll play devil's advocate.
I could never list all of my favorite movies. . . that is one expansive list. You can find a short list in my Movies section below. That list should give you a general idea of my taste in movies.
I'm agnostic, borderline atheist. If there is anything I absolutely loathe in this world it is religion. It creates closed-mindedness, hatred, and absolute certainty; something that is never a good thing when you are talking about the supernatural.
I like using ellipses. . . you should probably get used to that. . .
As alluded to before, I am typically referred to as a 'cynic.' That is a correct description, but you must remember 'cynic' and 'right' are usually synonyms.
I wish I was in the 90s right. . . about. . . now.

Literature
I don't have many favorite books. I do regularly read, but I almost never find myself with a long list of favorite books. Here are some of my favorites:
- WATCHMEN by Alan Moore
- V for Vendetta by Alan Moore
- Selected Prejudices by H. L. Mencken
- Harry Potter series
- The American Language by H. L. Mancken
- From Hell by Alan Moore
- Fallen Founder: The Life of Aaron Burr by Nancy Isenberg
- New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer by Bill Maher
- A Series of Unfortunate Events
- Anything by Garrison Keillor
Other than that, I find myself reading a lot of political, religious, and social satire. I also love reading anything in the graphic novel medium that is more than the standard comic-book story; something that takes the medium to a level beyond that of fantasy, and uses it to tell a story that is meaningful, visceral, and real.
Television
I don't watch too much television, due to the fact most of my favorite programs have either ended, are about to end, or have been canceled. My favorites include; Arrested Development, The Simpsons, Frasier, Monk, Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, House M.D., Real Time With Bill Maher, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Saturday Night Live Seasons 1-5, The Office (U.K.), Futurama, Seinfeld, The Red Green Show, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Teacher's Pet, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, First few seasons of Sesame Street, Invader Zim, MythBusters, Attack Of The Show, and -- just because I'm a nostalgic arse -- any DVDs I can find of childhood favorites, including; Loony Toons, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Wishbone, The Original All That, and, of course, Pokemon. I could go on and list all of my childhood favorites, but who'd want to read that?
