Todd (Japanese: ? Tohru, lit 'snap'), also known as Snap in some versions, is a professional Pokémon photographer.

He is one of the few fairly major characters in the Pokémon franchise who has no Pokémon of his own.

In the Anime

Todd had recently become famous after he took a picture of a supposedly extinct Aerodactyl. He was hailed for being able to "capture any Pokémon on film" After seeing the article in a magazine, Meowth misunderstood the wording, not seeing the "on film" part. Team Rocket disguised themselves and hired Todd to capture Pikachu.

Todd set out to capture the perfect picture of Pikachu, which irritated Ash - the two boys eventually settled their differences, however. Todd traveled with the group for some time, but left before Ash, Misty, and Brock boarded the ship for Cinnabar Island.

Later, Todd showed up in the mountains of Johto, trying to capture a picture of the Legendary Pokémon, Articuno. After successfully photographig the Legendary Pokémon, Todd went his own ways once again.

In the Games

Todd is the progtagonist of Pokémon Snap, a photography game. Professor Oak hired him, equiped him with the ZERO-ONE, Pester Balls, bait, and a PokéFlute, and sent him to Pokémon Island to take pictures of wild Pokémon behaving naturally.

In the Pokémon Special Manga

In Pokémon Special, Todd is a reporter and photographer on assignment at the Battle Frontier. There, he encountered the eccentric young Emerald - the strange young man ended up saving Todd from a wild Sudowoodo.
