I found out some cats such as Turkish Van are fond of watery areas, or even swimming. And there are some dog breeds like Poodle breeds and Irish Water Spaniels who are good swimmers. Do you think Vaporeon could be based on those? [[User:SpecialStageRoute|Special Stage Route]] ([[User talk:SpecialStageRoute|pit stop]]) 01:35, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
:Dogs/cats and elements are just kind of Eevee's thing. It's not like there are electric dogs/cats (unless you count Aibo) or fire dogs/cats out there, or grass/ice/whatever. If there were similar appearances, that'd be one thing. But we don't need to reach for super specific species just because the *water* evolution can swim. Water's effectiveness

Here's the problem: although technically Vaporeon takes no damage from Water-type attacks while it has Water Absorb, the (UP TO 25%) healing it receives still applies it's resistance to Water. Personally, I'd rather list Water's effectiveness as 0, noting the hidden resistance on the Water Absorb page. What do you think? That okay? --ANinyMouse 03:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Traits

Shouldn't it have traits of Lion? It's collar (which is a maine) reminds me of a Lion's Maine sometimes , and it's old sprite kind of looked Lion-ish. And don't complain about what I'm saying/typing right now, if you you don't think Lion traits should be there don't add it. (I can give more reasons about the Lion trait if you want. Acid Armor

In Vaporeon's "special abilities" section, it says:

"As stated previously, they have a unique molecular structure. They have the ability to "melt" into a body of water and disappear completely from view".

Does anyone mind if I add in a link to the attack acid armor, since its a clear reference to that? - unsigned comment from Wikid (talkcontribs)

I think that there is a connection there, but not in the way that is implied. It also seems just a little co-incedental, but would not do harm if reworded. I hope nobody minds if I change the wording myself in the trivia section Monblazon 17:34, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Worth mentioning?

In FRLG, I got an alternate coloured Vaporeon BUT was not the same colour as a shiny. It was the same when it was an Eevee. SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 15:59, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

It sounds to me like a hacked game or a glitch rather than anything that could just happen to anybody. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 15:48, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, it was on FR. The LG was a glitch game bought from a normal shop though. - unsigned comment from Simpsonsdude13 (talkcontribs)
Never mind, was shiny. SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 10:05, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Vaporeon's Pokédex

Here's Vaporeon's dex entry if anyone wants to add it to the page:

Episode Pokémon Source Entry
AG152 Vaporeon May's Pokédex Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokémon. Vaporeon love fresh, clean water and can make their bodies melt away into water as well.

Sprites?

Is it worth noting that the Gen II regular and shiny back sprites are different? Not just the colour (obviously), but that the actual sprites are different. Is there a reason for this? I haven't noticed it on any other Pokémon. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention. Magentafeelings (talk) 04:11, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Veelution

Shouldn't it say at the top "Vaporeon (Japanese: シャワーズ Showers) is a Water-type Eeveelution Pokémon"? I mean, Tyranitar's page says it's a "pseudo-legendary Pokémon" at the top there and last I checked that's not even an official term. Me, Hurray! (talk) 23:52, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Mandarin Chinese names

Vaporeon's Mandarin Chinese name is written as 水精靈 but it's actually 水伊布 (also, the other Eeveelutions' names are written using -精靈 but they should be -伊布). Could this be changed? - unsigned comment from ‎Ericluleone (talkcontribs)

Turkish Van and Water Spaniels?
