I was wondering what would happen if you used a move deleter to forget all moves other than Last Resort. There would be no other moves to use, so would you be counted as having used all other moves or not?--The Last Sheikah 09:58, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

"Last Resort will fail if it is the only move in your set, you must use all other moves in the set first, and it will fail of it is the only one. However, if you only have 2 moves you can easily use the first move then spam last resort to your hearts content.", and this was said by Sent_By_Ravens on pokemondb.net. Also, I think that info like this should be on the page. It's rather helpful, methinks.Invocative (talk) 21:40, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

とっておき translation

Simply put, I feel like "The Best" is simply... not the correct translation, here. I'd have gone and changed it without asking, but since that translation has been there for forever and a day, I thought it would be prudent to bring this up here first.

"Totteoki" can mean "the best," but sort of more in the context of "saving the best for last," and just "the best" by itself doesn't really convey that meaning. :/ "Totteoki" means that something is valued, set aside, held in reserve... "Last Resort" is actually a really good adaptation of the meaning, but if I were to choose something that's close to the literal meaning and still gives the right impression, I think I'd go with "In Reserve" (as the move is, basically, kept in reserve until all other moves are used).

I agree. I don't know Japanese, though your reasoning sounds good. If it did have the highest damage possible, then the name 'The Best' would make sense, but it doesn't. Poisson14 03:56, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Move deleter

I was wondering what would happen if you used a move deleter to forget all moves other than Last Resort. There would be no other moves to use, so would you be counted as having used all other moves or not?--The Last Sheikah 09:58, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Taunt

Could Last Resort be used if all a Pokémon's other moves are status moves and taunt is used against it? [Preventing it from using any other moves]

I suppose so. Afterall, you can use Struggle when you get taunted having only status moves and you can use Last Resort after using Fake Out with no other moves. Smogon Ambipom (scroll to the bottom to "Other Options") --Enervation 00:17, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
