Evolution

Turtwig might evolve once it learns Energy Ball, just like with Snorunt, when it finally learnt Ice Beam it evolved.

I doubt it. As far as I know, Turtwig will be Ash's first Sinnoh release. The only way he'd possibly keep Turtwig as his signature Sinnoh starter opposite Paul's Torterra is if he had all three Sinnoh starters, and since Dawn has Piplup, that's not going to be happening.
Sure, we all thought Turtwig would be Ash's signature Sinnoh starter at first, but that's when we thought Chimchar was Paul's starter and that Brock would be the one out of the group that would eventually get a Chimchar, be it Paul's or a wild one.
Since it turned out Turtwig was Paul's starter, Chimchar's eventually going to seal its place as Ash's signature Sinnoh starter similar to how Charizard was to Kanto, Bayleef was to Johto, and Sceptile was to Hoenn. Odds point to Turtwig either being released, jump over to Brock's team, or sent to Prof. Oak's, the last one the only possible way Ash would :even keep Turtwig. Don't be surprised if Ash's signature Grass-type going into Sinnoh's Pokémon League is a Tangela, Snover, or either one of their evolutions.
Yes, there will be a day when Ash has a Water-type starter as his signature for a country. Odds are that will be in Generation V, with a new travelling partner taking the Grass-type one. Makes sense, since May had the Fire-type one! --Shiningpikablu252 17:03, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
What is with the theory that Ash will release Turtwig? I know the writers have managed to be unpredictable recently, but come on. Why would they do that?
Anyway, Turtwig has taken Aipom's place as the Pokémon Ash focusses on (besides Pikachu) so I am suspecting an evolution in the near future for that reason. Treecko evolved because it was used in lots of battles not because it learnt Bullet Seed. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:28, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Fabu-Vinny. It would be meaningless for Ash to make so much effort on its Energy Ball if he release it!Come on!Everything has the first time! Why couldn't it be the first time that Ash has 2 starters?-Billy4b2004 05:50, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Who would even suggest that Ash would release Turtwig? He may send it back to Porf. Oak's, but not release it. Come on, since when has he ever done a Paul and released any pokemon other than ones that he only temporarily owned or caught as part of a show or something? Never that i remember ~GT4GTR

Well, he released Pidgeot and Butterfree; however, both of those were back in Season 1, and he hasn't done any more releasing since (besides the forenoted Seaking and Larvitar in Johto). But I highly doubt he'll go back to releasing unless something very big happens that would make him do such - along the lines of why he released Pidgeot and Butterfree, or why J&J released Weezing and Arbok and Dustox. I believe far more likely is that Turtwig will become a parallel to Squirtle; that is, Ash has a Squirtle which he never evolved, but through training and determination has reached levels where it could have been a Blastoise, and can hold its own in the big leagues. At the same time, we have Gary, who evolves all his Pokémon eventually, and has a Blastoise as his starter and his strongest and most trustworthy Pokémon. Likewise here, Paul has a Torterra, his starter, strongest, and most valued member of his team, while Ash has a Turtwig, who's still able to use powerful techniques like Energy Ball. I think for this reason Turtwig will stay in it's first form (though I love Hayashigame, it looks like Spike from The Land Before Time).
Ash doesn't need to evolve his Pokémon to win, though his evolved species are some of his strongest. But Squirtle and Bulbasaur (and of course Pikachu) all hold their own against Charizard, Sceptile, and Bayleef, as well as Glalie, Donphan, Snorlax, Noctowl, Swellow, and Staravia (and any others I've forgotten and am too lazy to check up on the main article). He could have easily evolved those Pokémon; he's trained them enough, but he likes winning with them without having to change themselves to become more powerful. That's what makes him a more interesting trainer to watch than a series about, lets say, the stereotypical trainer who evolves all his Pokémon to their max power and becomes Champion of everything he attempts and catches the Legendary Pokémon and is TOTALLY not a Gary-stu... Needless to say, I think Turtwig will stay around, but won't evolve. Satosuke 19:27, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Turtwig is strong but compared with Paul's Torterra, its strength is no comparison. But since Paul has a Torterra, it's unlikely that it'll evolve all the way, but it'll be the perfect way to introduce Grotle and give it a strength boost. If it evolves into a Torterra it won't be during the Sinnoh saga.Kikibabygirl28 19:23, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

So all the signs are pointing to an evolution in DP100. But that doesn't mean we have to lock the article from editing for five weeks. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 10:28, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Route 203?

How is this possible when: 1.) Buenary was caught a few episodes later on route 202 where they started and Ash caught Starly. 2.) They haven't been through Jubilife city yet, and route 203 is on the opposite side. Sorry, but this is just not possible. ~GT4GTR

The Anime is DIFFRENT than the games. n00b. Crystal Lucario 12:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Good question. I'll look into it more. And Crystallucario, lay off. He only asked a question. --Theryguy512 12:04, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah Crystal, you dont just yell at someone that's asking a questionShiny Lucario 12:15, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, and i'm only a 14 year old kid. ~GT4GTR

Well, just remember, this is the same anime that says Route 24 leads to Vermilion City. TTEchidnaFire echy 06:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Yea. And the same anime where Ash is able to carry an 100-pound Hippopotas on top of his head with the slightest of ease... --Theryguy512 11:58, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

<.<' whoa I'm only 12 almost 13... Crystal Lucario 12:03, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Okay, so the anime is different, but still, how did route 203 come up? Did anyone say route 203? ~GT4GTR

You were the one who brought it up. YOU tell ME. Sorry I was so rude...just then. Let's be friends!DaPikanator56 00:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)DaPikanator56
