Sacred Fire is a slightly inaccurate and very damaging Fire-type move introduced in Generation II. The only natural wielder of this move is Ho-Oh. Unlike most moves that can cause status problems, this move has a 50% chance of burning the opponent, as opposed to the usual 10%-30%.
In the anime
In All Things Bright and Beautifly, Jessie learned that Sacred Fire is a really good move to use in the appeal round of a Pokémon Contest. She tried to get her Seviper to use it on stage but this naturally failed.
