In the Anime

Pryce appeared in three episodes of the Pokémon anime. He had a cameo appearance in Rage of Innocence, and he was featured as the gym leader of Mahogany Town in As Cold as Pryce and Nice Pryce, Baby!. His Japanese voice actor is unknown and his English voice actor is Jimmy Zoppi.

In the anime, Pryce was a champion trainer in his youth, but was severely burned in a battle. While he was bedridden, his Piloswine ran out the door and never came back. He believed it had abandoned him, and grew bitter.

Years later, the Piloswine was found frozen in a cave, near some plants that aided in the healing of burns -- it had run off in search of medicine. The Piloswine was defrosted and Pryce became happy again.

The next morning, Ash battled Pryce in a 2 vs. 2 match, but Pryce threw in the towel (both literally and figurely). Pryce is only Gym Leader who forfeited to Ash Ketchum.

In the Pokémon Special Manga

In Pokémon Special, Pryce is a frail man confined to a wheelchair. He rarely leaves his gym, and uses his Pokémon to create fantastic ice sulptures.

However, he has a sinister side -- he is also the criminal mastermind Mask of Ice.

He kidnapped Silver, Blue, Shum, Cart, Will, and Karen as children and raised them to be his servants. Even though Blue and Silver escaped, he continued to raise the other four as his slaves.

Then, after Giovanni disbanded Team Rocket, he was able to recruit the now-leaderless Rocket Grunts as his underlings - some came willingly; others were mind-controlled with masks.

Pryce, as the Mask of Ice, also somehow gained control of the Legendary Pokémon, Ho-oh and Lugia.

His villainy seemingly knew no end - until he captured Celebi in Ilex Forest using the GS Ball.

In his youth, Pryce had lost two of his Lapras in an avalanche. He never got over the truamatic event, and it seemed to scar him emotionally. He stopped at nothing to gain Celebi's power so that he could travel through time and be reunited with his Pokémon.

Unfortunately, the power of Celebi's time travel almost caused the world to freeze over. Apparently, time travel causes tempratures to plummet.

Gold followed Pryce through time and his Pichu destroyed the GS Ball, freeing Celebi.

Pryce vanished in the time vortex. To this day, no one knows what became of him.
