Release information
This card was included in the EX Ruby & Sapphire expansion, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. In Japan, it was reprinted in the Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Flygon, Salamence, and Metagross Constructed Starter Decks. It was later included in the EX Emerald expansion, first released in the Japanese Gift Box Mew • Lucario. It was reprinted again in the EX Crystal Guardians expansion, having been previously released in the Ocean's Kyogre ex and Earth's Groudon ex Constructed Starter Decks in Japan.
PokéNav was reclassified as an Item card during the Sun & Moon Series in the Celestial Storm expansion, originating from the Japanese Champion Road subset. A Full Art Secret print was also released in the expansion and subset and features artwork by Toyste Beach.

Trivia
All prints of the card in the EX series neglect to mention what would happen if none of the cards were Basic Pokémon, Evolution cards, or Energy cards. The ruling on the matter was that the player would show all 3 cards to the opponent to prove there were no necessary cards there, then place all 3 cards back on top of the deck in any order.
Origin
The PokéNav is an Item in Generation III of the Pokémon games, allowing Trainers to determine their current position, track their Pokémon's Contest stats, and communicate with other Trainers.
