This card was first released as part of the {{TCG|Extended Sheet 1}} of the {{TCG|Vending Machine cards}}. It was later reprinted in the {{TCG|Quick Starter Gift Set}}.
In Japan, twenty copies of this card were first given to [[Kasumi Matsuda]], one of the overall winners of the {{DL|Illustration contests|Pokémon Card Game Illust Artist Contest}}. It was subsequently available on sheet five of {{TCG|Expansion Sheet 1}}. There appears to be no discernible difference between the two prints; both are glossy and have a rarity symbol. It was reprinted as a non-glossy card in the Green Deck of the {{TCG|Quick Starter Gift Set}}.
 
An English version of this card was not released until the Scarlet & Violet Series, when it was included as a Holofoil card in the Blastoise & Suicune ex deck of the {{TCG|Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic}}. This reprint lacks a regulation mark and is thus not legal for tournament play.
