Menu

Exit is the final selection in the menu accessed by pressing the Start button (or the X button from Generation IV onward, although the options can be adjusted to allow Start to bring up the menu as well) in all mainstream Pokémon games. When selected, quite simply, it closes the menu. However, the fact that pressing the B button also achieves this makes the Exit command rather redundant. It can also be closed by pressing a button usable for accessing the menu. The Exit command is always the last selection to appear on the menu, regardless of the game.

In HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, the Exit command will most likely be absent from the menu due to the fact that the menu will be accessible via the touch screen at all times, not unlike the Pokétch in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions. However, the menu will also still be accessible through the X button, thus the Exit command may still be there.
