Trivia

• This is the first episode where a main character participates in an official Gym battle since Ash's rematch with Wulfric in A Real Icebreaker!, 358 episodes earlier.
  • Similar to Ash in the original series, Liko lost her first Gym battle but received a reward regardless just like Brock who give Ash his Boulder Badge since he forfeited.
• The first eyecatch features Liko and Floragato, and the second one features Katy and Teddiursa.
• This episode marks the first time since Where No Togepi Has Gone Before! that Charm has been used in the anime.
  • As such, this is the first time Charm is used as a Fairy-type move.
