Electrode (Japanese: マルマイン Marumine) is a Lightning-type Stage 1 Pokémon card. It was first released as part of the Base Set.

Pokémon Power: Buzzap エネエネ

At any time during your turn (before your attack), you may Knock Out Electrode and attach it to 1 of your other Pokémon. If you do, choose a type of Energy. Electrode is now an Energy card (instead of a Pokémon) that provides 2 energy of that type. This power can't be used if Electrode is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

Flip a coin. If tails, Electrode does 10 damage to itself.

This card was released in the English Base Set, first originating from the Japanese Expansion Pack. It was reprinted in the English Base Set 2 expansion.

Trivia

• Most likely because of its complicated and potentially difficult to program Pokémon Power, this card was not included in Pokémon Trading Card Game or Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR!. It shares this trait with Ditto.
• The art for this card was accidentally used in the first print run for the non-holo Electrode of the Jungle expansion.

Electric Shock's Japanese name is that of Thunder Jolt, a move in the Super Smash Bros. series. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
