Pokémon Game Tip Collector Cards were Pokémon cards distributed in packages of Black Diamond cheese products in Canada in September 1998, launching along with the release of Pokemon Red / Blue in Canada. Each package of cheese contained one of 4 game tip cards as well as a potential winning coupon for one of several Pokémon-related prizes, including Game Boy consoles and Pokémon video games. Non-winning coupons offered a $0.30 discount on the purchase of Black Diamond cheese. Contest started August 1998 and ended July 1999. There are 2 variants of the cards. The early Lactantia printed ones from the province of Ontario and Quebec and the later more mass produced for the rest of Canada Black Diamond labeled cards. These were the very first Pokemon cards release in North America.
