Satoshi Yamamoto
Satoshi Yamamoto (Japanese: 山本サトシ Yamamoto Satoshi, born December 17, 1965 in Kyoto) is a Japanese illustrator. He is best known for illustrating Pokémon Adventures from Volume 10 onward. Aside from his work on various Pokémon manga, he has also illustrated some cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
In 2016, Yamamoto and Kusaka were both awarded the Comic-Con International's Inkpot Award.[3] Later that year, they were also awarded the Mejor Kodoma Manga award in the XXII Salón del Manga de Barcelona.[4]
According to Yamamoto, the design of Violet was based on his own customizable player character in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.[5] At first, he had the default hairstyle, but felt that it wouldn't be too distinguishable from Ortega. He showed the list of hairstyles in the game's strategy guide to members of his family, asking which one looked like a prince, and based Violet's design on their suggestions.[6]
Yamamoto has mentioned that he uses the Scale World figures as a direct reference when drawing characters for his manga, such as Nemona.[7]
