Release information

This card was released in the English Base Set, originating from the Japanese Expansion Pack. Before the Base Set's release, prototype Pokémon Leagues received the Trainer Deck A, which included this card. The cards in this deck have a red border and "Trainer Deck A" printed on the back. It was later reprinted in the English Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection expansions.

Karate Chop and Submission are moves in the Pokémon games that Machoke can learn. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
