Accessories are items introduced in Generation IV.

Accessories are used in contests in Hearthome City as well as taking your Pokémon's picture in Jubilife City. This is the first item to ever be used in a contest.

The point of an accessory is to dress up your Pokémon in a way that makes it stand out from the other contestants in the visual competition of a super contest. The better the use of accessories to match the given theme of the visual competition, the more points scored.

Some examples of accessories available are:

  • mustaches
  • puffs (small multi-colored clouds)
  • masks
  • burettes
  • trees and other nature items
  • backdrops
