I hold that this article be renamed Jackson, since it was used in the main series. --BJG

He appeared as Vincent in three episodes, and as Jackson in one - Plus, as Jimmy and Marina identify him as Vincent even when he is calling himself Fabuvinny, (a feature present in the original,) I think it should stay here until 4Kids say otherwise. FabuVinny 14:55, 17 October 2005 (CDT)
How about moving to Junichi? I know we don't normally use Japanese names, but I think we can make an exception in this case. FabuVinny 13:09, 20 October 2005 (CDT)
Or we could do what Serebii does and have it at Vincent/Jackson... FabuVinny 13:34, 20 October 2005 (CDT)

I'd say that it would be better under "Jackson" than "Vincent"... Jackson came first, if we have Junichi's page called "Vincent" we might at well change Minaki's page from "Eusine" to "Eugene"... --Sato

Well, Vincent comes before Jackson in chronology, and Vincent sounds more like a real, not to impress Marina, name than Jackson. FabuVinny 17:09, 24 October 2005 (CDT)

Israeli dub? Cool! Did they do the same thing to Eusine? --Maxim 19:15, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Yup. I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard that it was actually one of the dubbers (the kids are actually dubbed by kids in Israel) that pointed out the name difference and offered they keep it the same as in the main series. --ElectAbuzzzz 19:22, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Kids? Freaky. Yep, that's possible. I have 3rd movie in Hebrew and I always thought the voices sound strange. Thanks for info. That's freakin' interesting. --Maxim 19:57, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Judging by the recent Todd Snap retcon, I wouldn't be surprised in Jackson becomes his canon surname now. It's not the in-character explanation I use but at least that would be something. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:07, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

If he ever reappears. User:TTEchidna/sig 20:10, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Todd hasn't reappeared and that didn't stop anything. All it takes is for Marina's cameos to be leading up to something or GSDS becoming a reality... --FabuVinny T-C-S 20:17, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Let's just wait. However, I'll always call him Jackson (am I the only one who is NOT trying to excuse 4Kids's screw-up?). --Maxim 20:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Todd technically reappeared with the Snap VC release. And I'm the one who's supposed to be all GSDS optimistic. User:TTEchidna/sig 20:22, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure that if this character gets a similar retcon that it would be Jackson as the surname. My money is personally on Vincent as the surname.
It could make sense either way. The seventh President of the United States was Andrew Jackson, while the eighth commissoner of Major League Baseball was Fay Vincent. This could make either Jackson Vincent or Vincent Jackson viable names. --Shiningpikablu252 21:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I've always called him Vincent Jackson. It makes more sense that he'd use his first name with his friends and his last name at the huge nationally-televised tournament, than vice versa. Zurqoxn 07:50, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Relation to Jun'ichi Masuda

Inferring that the character's name was derived from the first name of a real, significant person demands that there be some confirmation beyond the mere fact that it is, in fact, the same name. I have fixed this error before only to have Manga-in-a-bottle reverse my edit (if to be fair, he or she didn't seem to be aware of it). I am noting this here in hope that it does not happen again. --Unown Lord 12:27, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
