Salon Maiden Anabel (Japanese: タワータイクーン リラ, Tower Tycoon Lila) is the Frontier Brain in charge of running the Battle Frontier's Battle Tower.
She's heard rumors of Brendan/May's rankings in the Battle Tower, but isn't impressed. She wants to see their talent in battle for herself. When defeated, she awards the Ability Symbol onto the Frontier Pass.
On the second match, Anabel commends Brendan/May's progress, and is grateful for the chance to battle without holding anything back; to battle to her fullest.

Male or female?
In Japan, there is some debate about whether Lila was male or female.
- Officially, it is 不明 - unknown, uncertain, ambiguous.
- Lila uses the stereotypically male first-person pronoun ボク boku.
- However, at least one other female character speaks in that manner.
- In AG169, Takeshi does not become infatuated with Lila, but she is ultimately revealed to be female.
- In AG170, she turns red when Ash touches her hand; she has a crush on him.
